Gate kept by problematic classics and scared off reading. Books that are mostly written by ancient white men. No thank you. I can imagine that other women, men and lgbtq+, are sick of this as well. If you don’t like the standard classics, you mustn’t like reading. Bullshit.

When reading books, you can explore a story through someone else’s eyes and your own. You can learn about topics that you don’t have access to in your day to day life and expand your horizon. Books and their worlds stick with us.

I’m not here to convert you to the world of literature (I am). Maybe you are looking for a gift for a friend or family member. Maybe you know me personally and feel obligated to read at least one article. Or you just want to read the tea. Whatever brings you here, I hope you can find what you are looking for.

Disclaimer: Hate won’t be tolerated (except against the hateful). Differences will be celebrated and we love bodies exactly the way they are. I am not perfect (thank the goddesses) so if you ever catch me writing something that is incorrect, let me know and I will do my best to further educate myself. My opinions may fluctuate over time as we all keep evolving.

About me

Welcome to my blog, where I explore writing by sharing my experiences in essays and book recommendations. In the physical world I am job hopping in search of a creative outlet that brings me joy, and just trying to make sense of it all. My name is Roos, I’m a queer girlie with two feline orange sons and a love for green (plus all the other colours).

I love to read: to enjoy myself, to learn and not to waste my time and braincells too much on social media (help). It makes me happy. Hand in hand comes writing. Writing helps me process the past and shape my future. It is way cheaper than therapy.
